Occupational

Our occupational therapist help people who have difficulties carrying out day-to-day activities because of a disability, illness, trauma, aging and a wide range of long-term conditions. Our occupational therapy department serves our swing bed, inpatient and outpatient services specializing in activities of daily living (ADL) and cognition. For example, OT assists with dressing, bathing, feeding, and safety awareness. We proudly serve pediatrics to geriatrics at Putnam General Hospital.

Therapy treatment and activities include various forms of therapeutic exercises to enhance function and strengthen muscles. The following can be provided at Putnam General Hospital Therapy Services:

Self-care skills (dressing, bathing, hygiene)

Strengthening and conditioning

Adaptive equipment training

Arm/hand rehabilitation
