Nurse Extern Program

Putnam General Hospital offers a Nurse Extern program to students who have completed their Junior year. Flexible work schedules are available. Obtain hands-on experience with direct supervision from knowledgeable and caring RNs. Nursing students are employed in a temporary status which offers the opportunity for possible transition to a full-time new graduate nurse and to continue their employment at Putnam General Hospital. Our program aims to pave the way for a smooth transition into the real world of nursing.

Program Information

Must have completed Junior year of Nursing School
Must work a minimum of 12 hours a week
All program applicants must complete and submit a job application (list Nurse Extern as position applying for).

Applications for nursing externs are taken year-round.
